Samsung takes flat-panel TVs to a whole new level with its latest range of LED High Definition TVs. The company claims to be the first to introduce and manufacture LED TVs in India. Three televisions namely Series 6, 7 and 8 are available in this range. Samsung also introduces 5 new series of LCD TVs and 2 Plasma TV series in India.

The 6 and 7 Series TVs sport 40 and 46 inch screen sizes respectively and the Series 8 has a 55 inch display screen. The primary light source of all these TVs are LEDs which give users slim depths enabling more artful designs, increased energy savings and high contrast ratios. The TVs have a lot of features which allow users to view optimum video quality while watching content on these TVs.

With Samsungs Wide Color Enhancer Pro, customers are exposed to a wider color palette and the Ultra Clear Panel preserves and heightens every detail even in extremely bright and unsuitable conditions. The Natural mode merges both the LCD and plasma displays by optimizing picture settings automatically. Other features help decrease image judder and motion blur. Consumers can enjoy watching all their favorite sports, movies and video games with the company’s very own Auto Motion Plus frame interpolation technology.

“Samsung stays committed to developing technology and products that go beyond current expectations of value, quality and innovation. Our LED televisions redefine the standards for design, viewing experience and energy-efficiency in Color televisions. And, we are proud to be contributing to and leading this turning point in TV evolution, globally and in India, by simultaneously introducing Samsung LED TVs in different markets all over the world,” said Mr Jung Soo Shin, President & CEO, Samsung South West Asia Headquarters.

The TVs have a 29.9mm thickness as they incorporate Edge LED technology. They also include a built-in tuner. The gap between the TV and wall is further brought down to 0.6 inches. Customers can mount their ultra-slim HDTV on the wall as easily as they hang a picture frame. The Crystal design adorned by the TVs utilizes a dual-injection molding which coats a colored and translucent surface. The color effects further bring out the slimness in these devices.

The LED HDTVs are able to connect to a host of other devices easily. Users can view videos and photos from a camcorder, access multimedia files from a portable drive and play music from a media player. Customers can watch all content stored in their PC on the Samsung HDTVs without attaching any wires or cables. This is possible with the DLNA Wireless feature found only in Series 7 and 8. The Content Library Flash allows users to access and view games, galleries, cooking and lots more.

Along with sporting the latest features, these TVs are also environmentally-friendly as their energy consumption is reduced by 40% when compared to standard LCD HDTVs with similar proportions and attributes. They are also lead- and mercury free which further proves their concern for nature.

“Based on the introduction of our new, advanced 2009 Flat Panel TV lineup , our channel expansion and our innovative marketing campaigns , we expect to double our Flat Panel TV volumes this year,” explained Mr R Zutshi , Dy Managing Director , Samsung India.

Also introduced in India along with the LCD HD TVs are new five series of LCD TVs and two Plasma television series. The Samsung LCD series 3 and 4 have HD resolution while the Series 5 and above sport a full HD resolution and Crystal Design. The Series 6 and 7 use DLNA wireless streaming, Content Library Flash, USB 2.0 and Ultra Clear Panel technology. Along with excellent picture quality, these TVs also give users natural sound experience. They are lead-free and have lower power consumption. The Samsung LCD TVs range between 22 to 46 inches and the Plasma series range from 42 to 50 inches.

The public needs more of low cost, ie. affordable TVs. rather than high profile gadgets.
