LG has unveiled two new 55-inch HDTVs dubbed LG 55LH95 and LG 55LH93. The TVs promise to offer a brighter and clearer screen as compared to their leading rivals. These ultra slim TVs claim to lead the market in terms of quality and convenience.

These LED backlit HDTVs incorporate around 3,360 LEDs, which is approximately 7 times more than the others. These LEDs provide a high contrast ratio of 50,00,000:1 via the advanced dimming technology. This technology divides the screen into 240 blocks.

LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company President and CEO, Simon Kang said, “These products were designed specifically to target the high-end segment and offer unmatched quality and design. These new models will change the LED LCD TV market landscape and we expect these devices to reinforce the premium image of LCD TVs in general,”

These TVs provide vibrant and smooth images owing to the refresh rate of 240Hz. Measuring just 24.8mm in thickness, these TVs eliminate the need for image compression. This allows users to directly view content from DVD players, game consoles or home-theater systems wirelessly without any degradation. The technologies used in these devices allow the LEDs to be scattered horizontally, to reduce the distance between the LEDs and the screen.

The LG ultra slim HDTVs are expected to launch in July this year. The LG 55LH95 and LG 55LH93 will be priced at $ 5,500 (approx. Rs.2,64,230) and $5,900 (approx. Rs.2,84,255) respectively.
