Sony has raised the bar for the DSLR cameras with the introduction of its latest DSLR-A900 camera. Boasting to capture unmatched pictures, the flagship DSLR uses a full-frame 24.6 megapixel CMOS sensor EXmor. It supports on-chip analogue/digital (A/D) signal conversion and two-stage noise reduction.

Aimed at serious photo enthusiasts, the A900 maintains the key aspects for photography by offering unrivalled quality and creative possibilities with full-frame imaging.

To preview images, a high-resolution 3.0-inch Xtra Fine LCD is included. Additional features are fast, high-accuracy 9-point AF with 10 focus assist points, 5fps continuous shooting and optical pentaprism viewfinder exceptional brightness and 100 percent coverage. You can operate the digital SLR camera through the touch of a button on a full-featured RGB histogram and shooting information display.

The camera can also be connected to an HD television through the PhotoTV HD mode and the HDMI terminal.

Based on the new advanced dual BIONZ processors, the A900 ensures an accurate handling of immense amounts of image data at enormously high speed. It strengthens the camera’s razor-sharp shooting responses.

The camera also includes Sony’s SteadyShot built-in image stabilization that works with any Sony or Minolta Maxxum mount lens. The A900 is said to be the first full frame DSLR to have sensor-level image stabilization.

In terms of protection, the rugged Sony A900 Digital SLR camera is encased in a high-tensile aluminium chassis with magnesium alloy body panels.

Scheduled to reach the US market by October, the Sony DSLR- A900 camera is priced at $3,000 (approx. Rs. 1,36,407).
